Volunteer Opportunities

Colfax County Food Pantry

The Schuyler Food Pantry is located at 1213 Colfax St. (under the viaduct).  The pantry is open for drive-thru distribution Wednesdays from 5-7:30pm. Anyone in Colfax County may come and receive food once a month.

Anyone (from anywhere!) can sign up to work shifts at the pantry. Currently, we need volunteers to help pack boxes on Monday afternoons from around 1-4pm and to help us distribute these boxes on Wednesday evenings from 4/4:30-7:30pm. September is St. John’s Lutheran’s month to staff the pantry — volunteers please sign up on this page!

We rely on our awesome volunteers to keep the food pantry running! If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the signup form on this page, or contact the congregation on call for the month you would like to volunteer:

Mobile Food Bank

The Schuyler Mobile Food Bank takes place every second Thursday. It is currently drive-thru style due to the pandemic, and the August and September Mobile Food Bank events will be at 5pm at the Oak Ballroom. October onward, location and time are TBD.
